THE COLLISION' BETWEEN S.S. MURRAY AND P.S. CHARLES EDWARD.

Nelson, Dec. 1. The special jury case, owners of s.s. Murray against Nath. Edwards and Co., owners of the p.s. Charles Edward, for damages for a collision at Westport, lasted three days, and resulted in a verdict for L 624. The costs will be heavy, as there are three lawyers on each side. CHRisi-CHUKCH, Dec. 1. Wheat, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; oats, 2s 6d to 3s ; butter, 4M to 4|d. Dunedin, Dec. 1. Wheat, 5s ; oats unsaleable at 2s ; an : active trade sale for flour at LI 3 ; oatmeal, Ll3los. W.anganui, Dec. 1. The Governor has gone up the river to- \ day in a canoe. ; Frank Evans, clerk with Mr Roberts, solicitor, has been arrested, charged with stealing deeds. Ryan, of the circus troupe, has been committed for trial for stealing L3O from a Maori on board the Wangamu.
