THE OMOTUMOTU CREEK ROAD.
[to the editor.]
j Sir— Haying gone to the public meeting prepared to move an address to our member, Mr Harrison, should his- explanation of his past conduct during tho late session prove satisfactory, and having listened most attentively throughout, I must confess that the wavering feeling that took possession of me at one time gave place to one of perfect security when Mr Harrison plainly and forcibly, in answer to Mr Nichol, said that the majority of the people were in favor of the road via the Omotumotu Greek. Now, Mr Editor, as this subject has been long and patiently before the public, and as the very great advantage that the Omotumotu Creek road has over any other has been so fully explaiued, I am sure that the former opponents to this road have already given in their adhesion, and considering the' vote of confidence so unanimously passed, it must be very satisfactory to knbw'."that~the influence Mr Harrison will carry with the > Government in favor, of the road via the Omotumctu Creek may lead to its early accomplishment. . - I am &g., MorkisLevy. , P.S.— The County Chairman should be asked to use his influence with Mr Harrison in having the road commenced immediately. . . , Greyraouth, Dec. 1, 1871.
