ALL those who are suffering from despondency, melancholia, loss of spirits, and pluck, who feel that they are wasting and pining, and who are gradually getting weaker and weaker, from causes they have not courage or desire to acquaint their family attendant with. L; 13MITH wishes to impress on those who are laboring under diseases -which cannot be treated by the general medical attendant, tiom insufficient knowledge and practice, that as an expert in these diseases, he has the right to warn the public at large against the numoer of blatant charlatons and quacks who not only extort the money out of the pocket* of the patients, but are continually ruining the health of the unfortunate sufferers. Many hundreds yearly present themselves to mm from all the different colonies, who. are thoroughly bankrupt in health and pocket, ana they then lament, when too late, the horrible deception which has been practised on them. JNot'only ao men deceive these unfortunate victims by pretending to be legally-qualified men, but they advertise for sale, and swindle the public, by belling bottles of muck, under' the name of "Dr Ricord's Essence of Life," "Balm of Jsvnacum," and a mass of other quackeries, waose sole province is to extract money out oi the pockets of their deluded victims. Will the puoiic never understand that the only guarantee tney can have that they will be honestly ana skilfully treated, is the fact that the peruuu to whom they apply for advice is alegauy-qualified medical man who has devoted mv time to the branch of practice for whica the patient is seeking aid?
