FRANCE.
Paris, Oct. 9. The loan of the City of Paris has been taken up. Subscriptions amounted to more than thirteen times the required sum. Several conflicts have taken place between the French citizens and the German Garrison at Dijon. There was intense excitement in consequence. M. Thier3 receives complaints daily from the occupied provinces declaring that the presence of the German troops was insupportable. The German generals refuse to evacuate the Department of Ause until officially informed. The third instalment of the indemnity was paid, and they subsequently received orders and evacuated. Drombrowski, the leader of the mob who attacked the German residence at Lyons, was arrested, and sentenced to two months' imprisonment. , A deputation to Thiers went from Dijon, complaining of the conduct of the Prussians in occupation of that city. The Prussians were charged by the depntation with wantonly imprisoning 125 citizens who forgot to deliver up arms. The Municipality of Paris voted two millions of francs to repair monuments and public buildings. The supporters of the Empire are becoming bolder in their intrigues, and are agitating openly for restoration. Republican journals demand of Thiers prompt action in suppressing Bonapartist conspiracies. The Revision Court, to which Borsot appealed, have judged him guilty — penalty death. The sentence of Rochfort has been commuted to banishment. The disarmament of the National Guard is proceeding rapidly. Diplomatic relations with France and Germany are completed. Continued agitation in the Algerian possessions causes uneasiness lest the trouble and expense cause the abandonment of the colony.
