It is supposed they are drowned. Henry > Williams was found with a broken leg under the window of the Bank Hotel. It is supposed that he jumped from the window while in a state of delirium. He has since died in the Hospital. The Wellington team fires against the Greymouth Rangers on Saturday next. Lyttelton, Nov. 6. Arrived— E. U. Cameron and Emerald, from Hokitaka. Dundin, Nov. 6. A miner named Luscombe was drowned in a water race at the Carrick Ranges, on Saturday. A salmon was seen in the Clutha, near Cromwell. M'Leod, a schoolmaster at Palmerston, charged with indecent assault on a pupil, and Maria Webb, for bigamy, were committed for trial. CHRtSTCHTJRCH, Nov. 6. Peeress is the favorite for the Cup. Betting even on Peeress, three to one against Knottingley, four to one against Flying Fish. Tatjranga, Nov. 6. There is proof that Europeans ar« instigating the Natives to oppose the laying of the wire to the Thames. Auckland, Nov. 4. The Cagli Opera troupe have arrived from Sydney in the Nevada. An enquiry is going on in Sydney respecting the collision of the barque A. H. Badger and the Nevada, but no result wa3 arrived at. Captain Blethen has reserved his defence, giving bond for L3OOO to return. The Nevada sailed for Honolulu with 39 passengers and 250 tons cargo. A girl named Mary Bonnar was burned to death through her clothes catching fire. Mr Lennox reports Caledonians at Ll2O. .
