Blue sky and bars good was the report from the various telegraph stations yesterday. The Barometer was highest at Wellington, 30.10; and lowest at the Bealey, 27.18. Thermometer was highest at Christchurcb, 67 ; and lowest at the Clyde, 50. The Rangitoto left Hokitika for Greymouth on the night of the 31st ultimo, and without waiting to be tendered passed on to Nelson. Th.c s.s. Kennedy will leave to-night for Westport and Nelson. Information has been received by the agent at this port for Messrs M'Meckan, Black - wood and Co., stating that they intend putting on an additional line of steamers, calling at Auckland, Manukau, Taranaki, and Napier, connecting the East and West Coasts, and the Southern and Northern ports of New Zealand with Melbourne. Sydney news reports the NevadaVstern severely damaged by collision with the barqua A. H. Badger. The 1 euip Beth Shan, has sailed from Auckland for London with a cargo valued at L 20.289. The steamer Aihatnbra arrived at Wellington yesterday, and was to leave again last night for Nelson. She may therefore be expected in thiß roadstead to-morrow afternoon, when she will be despatched with gold and passengers for Melbourne direct. The B.s. City of Adelaide has arrived at Auckland from Melbourne and Sydney to take up the service between the southern ports of New Zealand and Sydney, on behalf of the A.S.N. Company. She was to sail South on the 30th ultimo.
