Melbourne - -The Argun of the 14th says : — A very moderate amount of business has been transacted in the import markets today, but sales generally have, so largely partaken of a retail character as to have excited little, if any, interest whatever. Breadstuff's show no animation. Flour is offering at Ll4 10s to Ll5, according to quality, but only small lots are disposed of. About a thousand bushels prime Adelaide, disposed of privately, were placed at 6s net. Feeding grains are very quiet. Oats, according to sample, are held at 8s 3d to 3s 7d for good feeding to good milling. A few odd parcels have been quitted at our quotations. Sales of maize hare been made at 4s, the market being thus a, shade easier. Quicksilver meets with a good deal of notice. We hear of about 150 bottles of a late arrival having bnen quitted at prices rising to 3s l^d. In teas, little business has corao under our notice. The sale of the Australind's shipment of about 4000 packages congous, to come off to-morrow, attracts some attention. Sugars are in slow sale, chiefly owing to so little being in stock.
