From recent exchanges we learn that the rumored large nugget found at the, Nevis,, weighed only 1740z, instead of 170oz as stated in a Dunedin paper. It is to be disposed of by art union for the benefit of the Dunstan District Hospital They have always been famous for treating their Hospital in a liberal manner at the Dunstan, and we notice that for this nugget an unlimited number of tickets will be issued up to a certain, date at half -a-spvereign each, and all moneys then received over and above the actual, value of the nugget, will be handed to the Hospital Treasurer. The ?>resent owners will receive a fair payment or their property, and the drawer of the highest number in the art union lottery will become the possessor of the goMen prize. Already a considerable number of tickets have been applied for, and we have no doubt the scheme suggested will yield a welcome contribution to the Hospital funds. Conduct snch as this is worthy of imitation, and might be followed here with great benefit to our local Hospitaf.
