Grey River Argus Oifice, Thursday evening. The amount of revenue received at the G'jstoms on goods passed for home consumption to-day was £75 13s 3d. Christchurch.— The Lyttdton Times of Saturday last reports :— In the grain market business is very dull, and transactions are of a limited nature. : The high tariff now established in Melbourne will in a p reat measure curtail shipment« in that port. We understand the farmer? have this season sown but a small acreage; in oats, and increased in wheat, therefore they will be less dependent on the Australian market*. Sales of -wheat in stores have been made at 5b 2d to 5s 3d, and for forward delivery 5s is freely offered for prime samples, and in Hcveral instances thi3 has been accepted. Flour moves off somewhat slowly at Ll4 10s to LI 5. A good demand exists for oats, principally for tbe West Coast arid the Northern ports. The Joliba sailed (luring the -week for Melbourne, having nearly 2000. sack*. Prime bright samples of potato oars are scarce at 2s Cd to 2s 7d, and Tartarian' 2s 3d to 2s 4.i(1. Potatoes are wanted at L 2 lOs to L 2 15s.' Butter. finds a ready sale at 7d to 71d. * Cheese remains neglected at 3}d to 4d. Hams and bacon are almost unsaleable. ' . : .
