Notice is Hereby Given, in pursuance o* " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," that oa THUBSDAY, the FOURTEENTH day of SEPTEMBER proximo, one third of the Councillors assigned to each Ward of the Borough of Greymouth retire by rotation ; and that an ELECTION will be held, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, on tbe said FOURTEENTH day of SEPTEMBER, for the election of OME COUNCILLOR for the EAST WARD, in the place of George Willis Nichol ; and for ONE COUNCILLOR for the MIDDJE WARD, in place of Edmund Wickes; also, for ONE COUNCILLOR for the WEST WARD, in place of William James Coates, so retiring by rotation. And Notice is Hereby Forther Given that the POLL (if necessary) will commence at 8 a.m. of the clock and close at 4 p.m. of the clock precisely, at the following places, viz.: — For the East Ward— ln the Volunteer Hall, Werita street ; For the Middle Ward— ln the Fire Brigade Hall, Boundary street ; For the Westward— ln the Town Hall, Gresson street. Furthermore, that the day for the NOMINATION of Candidates for the office of Councillors ia fixed for the FIFTH day of SEPTEMBER , at the Town Clerk's office, Gresson street, Greymouth. . : All Candidates must be nominated in writing, signed by at least three voters and by the Candidates, and such writing must be delivered to the Returning Officer, at the Town Clerk's office, on or before 4 p.m. of the clock on Monday, the Fourth day of September instant.
