The only departure yesterday was the s.s. Waipara, for Hokitika. , The s.s. Kennedy did not leave last evening, as was anticipated; for Westport, and Nelson, but will take her departure early this morning. The s.s. Alhambra, from Nelson, is not expected to leave this port, for Melbourne direct, until tomorrow. '■'■ : | Thes.s. Cland Hamilton, from Melbourne direct^ arrived off Hokitika yesterday afternoon. Her tender— the S.S. 1 Waipara— was here, and crossed as early on. the tide as the bar would permit, and, no doubt, she ran alongside the Claud, in order to tender her ; but, up to the closing of the telegraph office here, the : Waipara had not -arrived at the Hokitika whan. She will come in on this morning's] tide, and the Claud will come on here, where she will be tendered by the ps. Dispatch at 4 p.m. this day. The Claud will take a large number of passengers for Nelson, Wellington, and other New Zealand ports.
