Dunedin.— The Daily Times, of July 27, reports :— The week opened very flatly, and we have still to note business as remaining in a relaxed condition, and the import markets as exhibiting very little movement. In liquids — more particularly wines and spirits— there has been continued slackness, and no disposition to purchase any of these items, except for present requirements. By the Otago, from Liverpool, the market has been supplied wit h
some parcels of ales and stout, both in bulk and in glass. Of the latter, sales are reported at full rates ; but the former the c'emand is not equally good. Moderates sa'es of malt have occurred at 9s and 9s 3d, the latter for superior lot ; candles, in small lots, at lljd to ll^d, and kerosene at 2s 4d. The produce market has not witnessed any variation, and except a slightly improved enquiry for flour, there is nothing to note. Good milling wheats are quoted at 53 Gd to 5s 9d, though at the latter rate sales have not come under observation . Fine flour stands at Lls. Average parcels of feed oats are worth 2s 2d, without any increase in the demand.
