The Sutherland Co. repoiithe crushing of 70 tons of stone, estimated to be equal to 30 tons of quartz, from the new iunnel, which yielded two dwts. of retorted gold. Ten tons of quartz from the new reef in the middle of the claim gave two dwts. of gold. The drive along the reef, 70 feet, has changed in appeaiance, and is becoming more like the old tunnel stone.
