The s.s. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, arrived yesterday forenoon from Nelson, Westport, and Hokitika. She left Nelson on Wednesday, June 28th, at 5 p.m., arriving at the Ruller on Friday, the 30th, at 7 a.m. Discharged cargo, and left during the same night, at 8 p.m., fojftokitika, arriving there at 8 p.m. on Saturaay. She was detained" there owing to the heavy sea on the bar until yesterday morning, when she left, and came' on here as above. She landed cargo yesterday, and was to leave last night at 11 o'clock on her return northern trip. Tbep.s. Charles Edward is announced to leave this port on Thursday, at midnight, for Westport and Nelson. The Sarah and Mary and the Zephyr are now at anchor in the Hokitika roadstead,, unable to enter the river owing to the unworkable state of that bar. News was received on Sunday morning that the s.s. Murray had run ashore on the North Spit at the Buller, She, however, was successful in getting off again yesterday morning, and proceeded all right on her
