Bluff, July 1. The Tararua arrived ab 8 a.m. yesterday, after a four days sixteen hours passage. She left Saodridge afc 2 p.m. on the 26th Jiroe, and experienced fresh southerly and weslerly winds. She brings five chief and eight steerage passengers ; 312 tons cargo, and 32 horses. Passenger List.— Mr Haines, Mr Smith, Mr John Gray, Miss Frazer, Mr Sidney. Melbourne, 26th June. In the Assembly, before adjourning for the re-elections of the members of the new Ministry, Mr Francis, the Treasurer, proposed to rescind the tariff resolutions. There was great opposition, and the proposition was withdrawn. The House was adjourned to the 28th July. Mr Michie beat Mr Harcourt for the Council by a large majority. Mr Duffy makes a Ministerial statement to his constituents to-night, and it is auxiously looked for.
