The s.B. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, left Hokitika at daylight on Wednesday morning, and arrived here on the same tide. During tbe day, she took in a cargo of coal, and left in the evening for Westport and Nelson. The p. s. Dispatch left last evening for Westport for the purpose of towing in the schooner Ceres, from Melbourne. The ketch Jane Elkin having arrived at Wellington from Lyttelton, the ketch whichwas Been on the Farewell Spit by the Kaiuma is almost sure to be the Foam, which ■was spoken by the schooner Florence on her way round from Lyttelton to Hokitika^ The s.s. Alhambra is due at Hokitika, from Melbourne direct to-day, but it is not likely that she will be off this port until tomorrow. The three • roasted schooner Garibaldi, Vernazoni master, from Wesfcporb, in ballast, was towed to the wharf yesterday morning. She will take in a cargo of coal for Hokitika. The s.s. Tararua, from Melbourne, arrived at the Bluff at daylight yesterday morning. Telegrams of the news brought by her will be found in another column. It is not expected that she will come any further north than Wellington this trip.
