SUMMARY.
The New Zealand Loan has been negotiated to the extent of L 1,200,000 as a first instalment. The revolution in Paris continues. The Communists instituted a reign of terror. The guillotine was again erected. All respectable persons left Paris — 160,000 departed in ten days. There has been heavy fighting with the Loyalists, and many thousands killed. The Prussians are moving on Paris. Bismarck intends to bombard the city unless, order is restored. Napoleon arrived at Dover on the 20th March, and visited the Royal Family on the 27th. The Princess of Wales gave birth to a boy on the 6th April, and the child died on the following day.
