THE MAORI KING URGES FURTHER OUTRAGES.

Blenhetm, May 3. A second fire was discovered on board the ship Malay on Tuesday, at three, in the morning. It was extinguished by persons arrived from Blenheim. It is supposed to have originated between a bale of flax and the skin of the vessel, where flax, wool, and grain were stored. The outside of the bales of flax only were burnt. It destroyed and damaged 30 bales of wool, 45 of flax, and 60 sacks of grain. The vessel is uninjured. All the cargo was insured. An enquiry is expected ; the cause is unknown ; but circumstances are suspicious. The captain is absent at Wanganui. Wellington, April 3. Mr Charles Bull, bookbinder, from Melbourne, was found drowned this morning. Suicide is suspected. Deceased lately lost a lawsuit, and has been low in spirits ever since. The Coroner's Inquest is just ended. Verdict — " Found drowned." John Martin, owner of the s.s. Phcebe, threatens an action for libel against the Post. The Advertiser also threatens a similar action, unless the Post apologises. Trade is dull. New Plymouth, May 1. Tawhaio has written to Tito Kowaru, telling him to kill the pakehas. Tito Kowaru replied he would not, as he intended to await the decision of the Government about placing him and his people on their lands, so that they may remain at peace. The Taranahi News did not appear on Saturday as usual.
