ts V ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. ] ARRIVAL OF THE TARARUA AT THE BLUFF. [per greville's telegraph company, reuter's agents.] Bluff, May 3. The Tararua arrived from Melbourne at daylight. She left on the 27th ultimo at 3 p.m., and brings five chief and thirteen steerage passengers, and 343 tons cargo for all ports. Passenger List— Mrs Richard Powell and child, Mr W. C. Cooke, Mr Mirams, Mis Bazine, Miss Levy, Mr O'Meaga, and 13 steerage. Melbourne, April 27. The Parliament was opened by com- | mission on Tuesday. The Governor read his speech this afternoon. The Alhambra arrived on Saturday morning. The Suez mail sailed punctually on S\mday. There was a large funeral 'on Wednesday. Mr Duffy withdrew from the candidature for the Speakership, and Capt. MacMahon was elected unopposed. Wool is firm and quiet.
Sales of flour have been made at Ll4 15s. Port Macdonnell wheat has been auctioned at Cs 6d ; New Zealand wheat was withdrawn for 63. New Zealand oats (GOOO bushels) were auctioned at from 3s 6d to 3s 7d ; but 3s to 3s 3d for inferior. Sales of Devoe's kerosene have been made at 2s 2d. Sugar market heavy. Teas in better request. Twelve hundred cases JDKZ were sold at auction at lls l|-d. Hennessey's pale brandy, 6s 9d. Arrived — Prosperity, from Hokitika. Sydney, April 26. The City of Melbourne arrived on Friday evening. Wool sales are less active. Adelaide, April 26. Arrived — Anne, from New York. She has kerosene for Dunedin.
