Grey River Argus Office, Friday evening. The amount of revenue received at the Customs on goods passed for home consumption to-day was £362 9s sd.

Melbourne.— The Argus oi the 15th instant reports :— Business in the import markets has not been animated. The demand to-day has been of a less varied character, and there has not been so much doing in consequence. Breadstuffs maintain a depressed aspect, and no Balsa of any {ayjortan.ee whatever have been made public. Flour is nominal at Ll4 15a to Lls. Wheai is inquired for by millers, but aa they (to not feel inclined to pay the price required by holders, we are unable to report business; 6s 6d is asked for Adelaide, while 6s 3d to 6s 4d wonld do for Port MacDonnell. Oats are very quiet, 8, in consequence of late arrivals, buyers

generally evince a desire to hold back. Quotations range from 3s 4d to 3s 7d. Maize is still in a most unsettled condition, and great difficulty is experienced iv making sales. Prices are also most irregular, but we believe we are correct in stating that for good samples 3s lOd can yet be obtained. The cargo of Java sugar per Stanley was offered for sale this forenoon by auction. This cargo consisted of 5,413 mats, of which 4,350 mats were disposed of. Brawna realised L 29 10s to L 29 15s, and middling to yellows were quitted at L 34 5s to L 36. There was a fair attendance of the trade, but the biddings were not animated, and the prices barely support yesterday's quotations. We learn that the Carl's cargo of Java produce, just arrived, will be placed on the market publicly on Tuesday forenoon. A good deal of activity is reported in teas. Further considerable sales of the Galilees's shipment of congous are reported to have taken place. Some 450 half-chests, ex Isabella Brown, fine medium congous have also been taken up at full rates. Superior congous have likewise been placed at 2s Id for trade parcels, and common congous, at lid to Is, have also met a good enquiry.
