Wellington, April 18. The s.s. Wellington has been sold to the neiir local ' companyj for ! L7OOO, after keen competition by Mr John Martin. The Ahuriri was sold to Mr John Martin for L 3630. The Pheebe and Ashley were bought in by the owners, and the Taranaki'was hot put up;
A couple of young men in Burlington, lowa, have invented a machine that makes 100,000 match Bplints a minute.
