There have been no arrivals or departures at this port during the last two days. The steamer Alnambra is due at this port to-day from Melbourne, according to advertisement. She was to be despatched from that port on Saturday, the Ist instant, .and .ts the company to which she belongs invariably despatch their steamers for New Zealand on the Saturday, it is not at all improbable she may arrive this afternoon or early on Friday morning. She will take passengers for all New Zealand ports and Melbourne, via the Bluff. The schooner Ceres, Captain Kendall, is announced to- sail this morning, at ten o'clock, for Newcastle direct. She will take passengers for Sydney, forwarding them on from Newcastle.' . - The p.s Charles Edward, now on her trip round the coast ports, is expected here tonight or to-morrow morning, and will leave on Friday night, at ten o'clock, for Westport and Nelson. The s.s. Tararua, from Melbourne, arrived at the; Bluff at daylight yesterday morning. She will not come further north than Lyttelton this trip, but will return to Melbourne, via the Bluff. It will be seen by our telegrams that the 8.8. Claud Hamilton, while on her trip to New Zealand, burst one of her boilers, and returned to Melbourne. We are not informed whether any lives were lost by the cxplo- '• sion.' .
