PORT OF GREY.

HTGII WATER This DaY- 10. 12 a. m. ; 10. 31 fr m. ARRIVED. April 4-Nii. SAILED. April 4-Nil BXPBOTEDiARRIVALS. Caledonia, from Dunedin. Waipara, from Hokitika. Magnet, from Melbourne. Omeo, from Melbourne. Wallabi, from Westport. VESSELS IK PORT. Dispatch, tag-steamer. Jane Elkin, from Kaiapoi. Ceres, from Melbourne. Queen, from Manakau. Garibaldi, from Hokitika.

On Monday the brigantine Prosperity, whilst being tnwed in by the tug Lioness, at Hokitika, grounded in tbe south channel, and as she did not float off at the next tide, it was intended to lighter her cargo. The vessel was in no danger. It will be recollected that some time back the B.S. Maori, on her trip from Dunedin to Lyttelton, met with very severe weather, and bad to throw overboard a portion of her cargo. The Wellington Independent, of v recent date, reports that a case marked S. S.E. was thrown up on the beach between Ohariu and Cape feraviti. Our contemporary remarks :- "The box, we understand, belongs to Messrs Sargood, Son, and Ewen, Dunedin, and that it was thrown overboard from the B.s. Maori on the 3rd February last, along with other deck cargo, opposite Timaru. It has, therefore, been carried by the current northwards past Banks' Penixsula, the Kaikoras, and across the Straits, to the place where it was found between Ohariu and Terawiti, after a cruise of 42 days.
