On the Northern Pacific discoveries o^ veins of lignite coal in the Missouri Valley, have been made by Captain Morris' party of engineers, which will be a godsend to the road which traverses so large a section of woodless country. The veins range in thickness from eight tc* : twelve feet, and outcrop at many points in the Great Missouri Coteau, indicating an almost inexhaustible supply.
