Winners of public money, in any race, to the amount of £50, to carry 71b penalty ; of £100, to carry 101 b; not accumulative. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 3 soys. Borough Handicap, of 50 soys. Second horsejto receive 10 soys. from tho stakes. ■"Seminations 1 soy. Acceptances 3 soys. Distance two miles. The handicap to be declared upon the Course immediately after the finish of the Lottery Plate. District Plate, of 20 soys, One mile and a half. Entrance, 2 soys. Open to all horses the property of bonafide residents in the Grey District prior to the Ist of January, 1871, and also owners from same date of the horses entered by them. Weight for age. Hurdle Race, of 40 soys, Heats. One mile and a half. Over six flights of - hurdles, Entrance, 4 soys. Weight for age in this race only as under, without I allowances. 6 yrs, and aged, list 31b ; 5 yrs,|lost 131 b; 4 yrs, lOst 31b ; 3 yrs, 9st. Hack Race, of 10 soys. One mile. Post entries. Minimum weight, Bst. Entrance, 1 soy. Any horse that has run in one of the foregoing races shall not be allowed to enter for this event. Three horses to, start or no race. SECOND DAY— SATURDAY.^ Grey Valley Hurdle Handicap, of 50 soys. Two miles and a half. Nominations 2 soys. Acceptances, 3 soys. Nominations with 2 soys, to\be sent to the Secretary at the Aibion Hotel, on or before 8 o'clock on the evening of the 17th. Weights to be declared at 8.30 p.m. Acceptances, with 3 soys. to be sent to the Secretary before 11 o'clock the same evening. Telegraph Stakes, of 15 soys. Entrance, 1£ soys. One mile and a half. The winner to be sold for £20. Weight for age. Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 250 Bova, open to all horses. Two miles and a half ; second horse to receive 40 soys out of the stakes. Weights to be declared on Friday, 17th March, at 8.30 p.m. Acceptances, with 9 soys, to be sent to the Secretary, at or before 11 o'clock the same evening. Stakes, of 20 soys. Weight for age. The Winner to be sold for £50 ; if to be sold for £40, allowed 71b; £30, allowed 141 b; £20, allowed 211 b. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, and the surplus (if any) to go to the Race Fund. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 2 soys. Ladies' Purse, of 20 soys. Open to all horses. Gentlemen riders. Welter weight for age. Each horse must qualify by jumping a hurdle in front of the Grand Stand before starting. One mile and a half. Entrance, 3 soys. Consolation Stakes, of 20 soys, fcr all horses that have run for, and not won, any money during the meeting. Second horse in the Jockey Club Handicap debarred. One mile and a quarter. . REGULATIONS. The rules of the Greymouth Jockey Club will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. AU Entries and Acceptances must be in writing, specifyjbag age and description of horse, colors of rider, and contain the requisite money. All horses must be ridden in colors. All parties entering a horse must pay the sum of 2 soys. to the Race Fund (unless a member of the Club), in order to qualify themselves, enterers for the Hack Race only being excepted.
