THE GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL RACES.

A special meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club was held at the Albion Hotel last evening for the purpose of receiving the nominations of horses for the forthcoming races, and making other arrangements for the annual meeting. The rules of the Club allow for the reception of nominations from a distance bearing the postmark of yesterday, and as the Club have received intimation of the intention of several owners to enter horses not nominated last evening, the local nominations must not be considered to be inclusive of the horses who will run. Those that have been nominated here, however, include animals of high standing, and it is anticipated that others of equal calibre will come to the starting-post. We subjoin a list of the nominations received by the Club last night : — Trial Stakes, of 50 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. One mile and a half. Entrance, 5 soys. Mr E. Cutts' c m Peeress, 5 yrs Lottery Plate, of 25 soys. Winners of public money, in any race, to the of £50, to carry 71b penalty ; of £100, to carry 101 b ; not accumulative. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 3 soys. Mr Hughes' bl m XXX, aged Mr Campbell's br g Robin Hood, aged Mr Taylor's b g Gamester, aged Town Plate, of 100 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Two miles. Entrance, 8 soys.
