District Purse, of 25 soys, open to all hoi*ses the property of bonafiae residents in the Grey District prior to the Ist of January, 1871, and also owners from some date of the horses entered by them. Weight for age. One mile and a half. Entrance, 3 soys. Hurdle Race, of 50 soys, open to all horses. One mile and a half. Heats. Over six flights of hurdles, Weight for age in this race only as under, without allowances. 6 yrs, and aged, list 31b ; 5 yrs, lOst 131 b; 4 yrs, lOst 31b ; 3 yrs, 9st. Entrance, 5 soys. Hack Race, of 10 soys. One mile. Post entries. Minimum weight, Bst. Entrance, 1 soy. Any horse that has run in one of the foregoing races shall not be allowed to enter for this event. SECOND DAY— SATURDAY. Westland Hurdle Handicap, of 75 soys. Two miles and a half. Over nine flights of hurdles. Nominations with 2 soys, to be sent in to the Secretary on or before the evening of Monday, the 13th March, at 8 o'clock, addressed to the Albion Hotel, Greymouth. Weights to be declared at 8.30 p.m. on Friday, 17th March. Acceptances, with 6 soys, to be sent to the Secretary before 11 o'clock the same evening, to the same address. Publicans' Purse, of 25 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Winner of the Town Plate to carry 71b extra ; of the Trial Stakes, 41b extra. One mile and three-quarters. Entrance, 3 soys. Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 250 soys, open to all horses. Two miles and a half ; second horse to receive 40 soys out of the stakes. Nominations, with 3 soys, to be sent to the Secretary on or before Monday, 13th March, not latei than 7 p.m., addressed to the Albion Hotel, Greymouth. The rules of the Greymouth Jockey Club will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. Entries and Nominations to be made on Monday evening, 13th March, previous to nine o'clock.at the \lbion Hotel, Greymcuth. All Entries and Acceptances must be in writing, specifying age and description of horse, colors of rider, and contain the requisite money. All horses must be ridden in colors. All parties entering a horse must pay the sum of 2 soys. to the Race Fund (unless a member of the Club), in order to qualify themselves, enterers for the Hack Race only being excepted. • , All stakes paid less 5 per cent, towards expenses.
