— ■ ffSat The Alhambra is due this morning wm. Melbourne direct. On arrival she will be tendered by the p.s. Dispatch, and take passengers for Nelson, other coast ports, and Melbourne via the Bluff. The s.s Murray, Captain Palmer, left- this port on Tuesiay at midnight, arrived at Westport early the same morning, and left again on the same tide on a return trip to this port, which she was expected to make about midnight. The p.s Charles Edward, Captain Holmes, left port yesterday morning for Hokitika, where she arrived the same tide. She will return to-day on her way to Westport and Nelson. A telegram from Dunedin of the 7th inst. states that the steamer Maori had a narrow escape from foundering oft Bank's Peninsula. She is said to have been overloaded. One hundred bales of wool and all luggage had to be thrown overboard. She wa3 completely under water several times.
