Winners of public money, in any race, to the amount of £50, to carry 71b penalty; of £100, to carry 101 b; not accumulative. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 3 soys. Town Plate, of 100 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Two miles. Entrance, 8 soys. District Purse, of 25 soys, open to all horses the property of bonafule residents in the Grey District prior to the Ist : Of January, 1871, and also owners from I same date of the horses entered by them. Weight for age. One mile and a half. Entrance, 3 soys. I Hurdle Race, of 50 soys, open to all horses. One mile and a half. Heats. Over six flights of hurdles, Weight for o,ge in this race only as under, without allowances. 6 yrs, and aged, list 31b ; 5 yrs, lOst 131 b; 4 yrs, lOst 31b ; 3 yrs, 9st. ! Entrance, 5 soys. Hack Race, of 10 soys. One mile. Post entries. Minimum weight, Bst. Entrance, 1 soy. Any horse that has run in one of the foregoing races shall not be allowed to enter for this event. SECOND DAY-SATURDAY. Westland Hurdle Handicap, of 75 soys. Two miles and a half. Over nin?. flights of hurdles. Nominations with 2 soys, to be sent in to the Secretary on or before the evening of Monday, the 13th March, at 8 o'clock. Weights to be declared at 8.30 p.m. on Friday, 17th March. Acceptances, with 6 soys, to be sent to the Secretary before 11 o'clock the same evening, to the same address. Publicans' Purse, of 25 soys, open to all horses. Weight for age. Winner of the Town Plate to carry 71b extra ; of the Trial Stakes, 41b extra. One mile and three-quarters. Entrance, 3 soys. Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 250 soys, open to all horses. Two miles and a half ; second horse to receive 40 soys out of the stakes. Nominations, with 3 soys, to be sent to the Secretary on or before Monday, 13th March, not latei than 7 p.m., addressed to the Weights to be declared on Friday, 17th March, at 8.30 p.m. Acceptances, with 9 soys, to be sent to the Secretary, to the same address, at or before 11 o'clock the same evening. Selling Stakes, of 20 soys. Weight for age. The winner to be sold for £50 ; if to be sold for £40, allowed 71b; £30, allowed 141 b;. £20, allowed 211 b. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, and the surplus (if any) to go to the Race Fund. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 2 soys. Ladies' Purse, of 30 soys. Open to all horses. Gentlemen riders. Welter weight for age. Each horse must qualify by jumping a hurdle in front of the Grand Stand before starting. One mile and a half. Entrance, 3 soys. Consolation Stakes, of 20 soys, fcr all horses that have run for, and not won, any money during the meeting. Second horse in the Jockey Club Handicap debarred. One mile and a quarter. Entrance, 2 soys. REGULATIONS. The rules of the Greymouth Jockey Club will be enforced, unless when otherwise specified. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. Entries and Nominations to be made on Monday evening, 13th March, previous to nine o'clock, at All Entries and Acceptances mxist be in writing, specifying age and description of horse, colors of rider, and contain the requisite money. All horses must be ridden in colors. All parties entering a horse must pay the sum of 2 soys. to the Race Fund (unless a member of the Club), in order to qualify themselves, enterers for the Hack Race only being excepted. All stakes paid less 5 per cent, towards expenses. Three horses to start, or the public money will be withheld. 1 Nominations bearing post mark of 13th March will be received. JAMES.
