What is commonly called a practical joke was played the other night by some cheerful spirits without wits, who cleared the Queenstown (Otago) Town Hall of the whole of ifcs furniture -including the. large clock which was hanging up. The large table, with forms, and chairs, top and bottom, were placed in due order for a meeting, in the street opposite the Hall ; while a smaller table and complement of chairs were arranged under the verandah of Messrs Hallenstein and Co. As to the clock, it was hoisted as Inch as rone would take it to the top" of the flagpole m front of the Wakatip Hotel. The joke is likely to prove a serieus one to somebody, as we understand the police have! a clue as to the perpetrators, and summonses hare been issued accordingly. i
