The amount of revenue received at the Customs on goods passed for home consumption on Thursday and to-day was £409 IBs 7d. ■ Chbistchcjrch —The Lyttetton Times of Saturday last reports : — There has been very little business doing in. the grain market, and few transactions of note can be reported. The low price now offering for wheat in this market has caused several shipments to be made to England. If the present dry weather continues for a few weeks, holders of prime samples are confident that prices will improve, as the bulk ] s aow offering is inferior. Good dry stored i parcels of wheat have been quitted during

the week at 4s 3d to 4s sd, and for forward delivery 3s lid to 4s 2d are the reported sales. Heavy feed oats are offering very slowly, and whenever a good blight sample is brought forward high rates are obtained. A large parcel o£ this description was sold instore at 2s 7^d, but generally 2s 6£d to 2s 7d is the market value. Tartarian fetch 2s 3d to 2s 3£d, with a few buyers. The millers have great difficulty in placing flour for export, and the local demand is easily satisfied at Lll 10s to Ll2. In provisions we have to report a somewhat dull enquiry for butter at 6fd to 74<1 ; several parcels are being shipped to England. Cheese is in slow request at 6d to 6£d ; hams and bacon remain unaltered.
