SIR,— We, the undersigned, request that you will allow yourself to be nominated as a Candidate to represent the Borough of Greymouth in the County Council ; and, in the event of your doing so, we will use our best endeavors to secure your return. Gentlemen,— l have to acknowledge receipt of your requisition, asking me to become a candidate for one of the vacant seats in the County Council. In answer thereto, [ beg to say that I have much plea* sure in acceding to your request. At some future day, I shall have the honor of addresßing you, and explaining my viewo as to the position Greymouth occupies with respect to the rest of the County of Westland. P TEE "c~~A MER 0 N (Late of the British Hotel, Hokitika,) Begs to announce that he has leased from Mr Joseph Kilgour the Union Hotel from This Da}', and he trusts, as he believes, that the commercial and general public will receive those attentions which shall make the Hotel the same as it has hitherto been consideredone of the most commodious and best managed establishments on the West Coast. Special attention will be paid to the convenience and comfort of Boarders, Travellers, and persons travelling enronte through Greymouth to other parts of the Colony. The Hotel comprises a large number of convenient, well-ventilated sleeping-rooms, well and comfortably furnished. Also public and private rooms for commercial and business men, as also for private parties. Special attention will be paid by tha new proprietor to the Culinary Department, and an excellent table will form one of the chief features of the establishment. . There is a fine Billiard Saloon under the management of an experienced and attentive marker. The Wines, Spirits, Ales, and other liquors served at the bar will be of the very best description purchasable in the best markets. "|^ 0 T I C E. The undersigned having disposed of his hotel business to Mr PEIER CAMERON, late of Hokitika, begs to recommend the new landlord to his old friends and customers — feeling well assured that their comfort and | convenience will be considered, and the hotel well conducted under such able and experienced management JOSEPH KILGOUR.
