The s.s. Alhambra arrived from Melbourne at the Bluff on Saturday forenoon. She will come on round the ports, and will probably leave the roadstead for Melbourne direct on Saturday or Sunday. The ketch Angelina, from Kaiapoi, with a cargo of produce, was brought to the wharf yesterday by the p.s. Dispatch. Her cargo will be sold by auction on the wharf to-day by Messrs Nancarrow Henderson and Co. The schooner Crest of the Wave, Captain Bell, from Dunedin and Oamaru, was picked tip in the roadstead on Sunday by the p. 9. Dispatch, and brought to the wharf. She brings a large cargo of produce and general merchandise, all in first-rate order. The brig Magnet, from Greymouth, arrived in Melbourne on the 29th October, after a good run. She was immediately placed on the berth, to load for this port. The 8.8. Kennedy left for the North on Sunday. The ketch Jane Elkin, P. Leslie, master, arrived yesterday from Kaiapoi, with a cargo of produce, after rather a long passage. When ofF the bar she had a fair wind, and sailed in np to the wharf. Her cargo is consigned to Nancarrow, Henderson and Co. The s.s. Murray, Captain Palmer, arrived at the wharf on Sunday from {Nelson, &c, and was expected to leave for Hokitika during last night. The master of the schooner Lady Don reports that during his last ran round from Lyttelton, when W.N.W. of Kaurangi Point, he observed the sea break very heavy in five or six different places, which leads him to believe that there is a foul bottom about there. On Friday morning, at 5 a.m., Capt. Scott, of the Lyttelton steamer, came close alongside, and threw two copies cf the Grey River Argus on board, containing the news of the great fire at Lyttelton, for which he returns thanks, as his family resides there. At 10 a.m., the Charles Edward passed under sail, going north. It is singular the schooner spoke her nearly in the same place when the accident occurred.
