The new reef reef discovered by Messrs Cosstick, at the head of Opossum Gully, Amherst, has turned out better than was even anticipated, we learn from the Talbot Leader, as twenty-nine tons of stone recently crushed have yielded 30oz of gold. The reef is Bffc thick, and the depth from which the trial crushing was obtained is 150 ft. The neighborhood of Amherst is gridironed with reefs, but they have probably received as little attention as any in the colony. Plenty of them have been scratched on the surface, but few indeed have received the attention they deserved.
