SUNDAY TRADING.
[TO THE EDITOR.]
' Sic, — Some J person has maliciously circulated a report to the effect that I was the. author of a letter (extracts of which were inserted in the Grey Rtver Argus of the 25fch), under the now de guerre of a Lagoon Lead correspondent, drawing the attention of the authorities to the practice : of Sunday trading in the Paroa and New River districts. Although perfectly concurring with the writer in his remarks upon the suppression of the evil, I most emphatically deny that I was in any way connected with its publication. You would oblige me by substantiating . the truth of my assertion. Apologising for the trouble lam giving you. — I am, &c, i Fred. Mi Eliier. P.iroa, Sept. 6, 1870.
[Mr Elmer was not the author of the let tor in question. — Ed.]
