She left Lyttelton on Saturday last the 13th, with light westerly winds ; on the 14th at 9 a.m. passed Cape Campbell ; at 3.20 p.m.. was off the Brothers, when, in a strong S.E. gale she carried away the wain gaff, and spht the foretopsail. At 8 p.m. the same night she rounded Stevens Island, at 3 a.m. on the 15th she passed the Lighthouse on Farewell Spit, with a moderate breeze from the S.E., at 1 p.m. same day passed Bock's Poiut ; at 11.30 p.m. passed Cape Foulwkd, with fresh easterly yrinds ; and at 3 a.m: on the 16th. was off Fox's River, and almost becalmed ; and at 8 a.m. same day she was. off the Grey. ■The Canterbury has not been thirteen days from this, port to Lyttelton and back, including time : for discharging and loading. On this trip, she is consigned to Messrs D. Maclean and Co. The schooner Glengarry, coal laden for Hokitika, was towed to sea by the p.s. Dispatch oh Tuesday. The s.s. Waipare,' Captain Bascand, arrived from Hokitika on Tuesday night, with the transhipped cargo of the. 8.3. Tararua from Melbourne. Yesterday, she ran out to endeavour to obtain a tow, but failing this, she returned to port, and after shipping some passengers and cargo, left for Brighton &c.
