[prom our own correspondents.] Wellington, August 4. The Government has agreed to give Auckland one additional member, and one between the County of Westland and Westland North. Mr Reynolds wanted two taken from Wellington, and one- from Taranaki, and that three be given to Auckland. Mr Swan moved for two additional members for Auckland. The Government proposal was agreed toby 41 to 21. Mr Reynolds's motion to reduce Wellington and Taranaki was lost by 40 to 3. During the debate, Messrs Gillies and Yogel had some very -warm' words. Motion number, four, as to the Maori representatives, was withdrawn ; and the others were cai'ried. " , : Mr Barff moved for five members for Westland, but the motion was not seconded. It is intended to give one member to the Buller, one to the Grey district, one to the Hokitika district, and one to the district South of Hokitika.

Christchuuch, August 5. Ms Moovhonse has issued an address to the electors of Christchurch. He says lie will support the present Government so long as it pontinues to assist a universal and just desire for progress. There is no likelihood of any opposition.
