WARDEN'S COURTS.

( AHAURA. Thursday, July 21. (Befdre Mr Warden Whitefoord.) ' Joha 1 , Anderson and party applied for leave to construct a tunnel at the ne^reef at Murray Creek, Inangahua. The application was Opposed by Thos. Cooney and party,, on. the ground that the stuff for the tunnel would be an obstruction on the objectors' claim. After considerable argument, permission waa given to make the tunnel, provided the applicants did not interfere with Cooney and party's claim. Mr Davies, for the applicants; one of the objectors, John Kelly, appeared for his mates. .■'•■■■• An application was filed for a waterright at Murray Creek by John Casely. James . Stephensori appeared to object on behalf of Johnstpne and. party (the holders of the 16| acre lease). Applicant did not appear, and the case was struck out, with costs. Wishart ; v. Edwards, and Fitzpatrick v. M'Master, were struck out. Court adjourned to August 4.. ■. CAMPTOWN. Wednesday, July 20. (Before Mr Warden Whitefoord.) Ryan v. Carey. — A complaint that defendant had damaged plaintiff's claim by running tailings on it. Damages were laid at Ll2. The complaint was dismissed, but defeudarit was ordered to secure his tail-race, and make a dam to ensure the complainant's claim from injury. Defendant to pay costs. .-. Charles Petersen v. Leach and Party. — A complaint that defendants had wrongfully deprived plaintiff of his right to certain water at Try- Again Terrace, Nelson Creek. Damages, L 6. The Warden held that the registration of the tail-race gave po right to the drainage water, and as the ; defendants had taken the precation to obtain registration of the right to the ( drainage, water coming from the tail-race, the complaint must be dismissed. Ryan and. Party v. Howe and Party, and Clanghessy and Party v. Ryan and Party, were settled. Several applications were made, and the Court adjourned to 3rd August.
