LATEST TELEGRAMS.

[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, July 13. Messrs Rich, M'Gillivary, Harrison, and Macandrow spoke last night in favor of the Government proposals. Mr'Ludlam approved of the principle, but strongly opposed tho details. Mr Stalford made an excellent speech. He thoroughly approved of the principle of the financial proposals, but strongly condenmed the details on some, and the absence of details on others. He offered to co-operate heartily with the Goverhi ment to mould the scheme into a safe and practicable one, and sketched fully the details which he would suggest of immigration, public works, &o. Ho was loudly applauded. Mr Tancred made a most amusingly inconsistent speech. He condemned the Government's proposals as the wildest and maddest of wild, mad schemes, but announced his inteni ion of voting for it, as it had at least finality about it, and would at least prevent further Provincial borrowing. Mr Gillies opposed the scheme as likely to prove ruinous to the Colony, and urged its withdrawal till after the election.

It is understood the Government will get Mr Ormond to move the postponement of the scheme till next session, and to accept suggestions made by the House. Nelson, July 13. ■ Tlie Nelson Perseverance Company's third crushing, at Collingwood, of fifty tons, yielded 3jroz. to the ton.
