ROAD BETWEEN BRUNNERTON AND LANGDON'S FERRY.

[TO THE' EDITOR.]; ; £» Sir— Would you allow< me, through; the medium of your papelp, to point .out to\ those whose busines^it'ls W look^after the truly dangerous state of the abovenamed road, dangerous alike to life and limb, especially as at this time, there ininettr constantly passing to and fro are in danger of being capsized headlong over a sideling of at least eighty or ninety ieet, . a&i rQra,iheinceasan t rains ~w hSve' Tiad; and r .are , still r haying, portions mountain are constantly detaching^tnemselvea,, accompanied by, boulders^ weighing from four pounds up to tons, far from above. Independent of that, the sideling that is left, and that which has departed, is so saturated by the. immense body of water which is allowed to run riot .oh it from off .the mountain, and is continually causing landslips, that the foot traveller has to exercise the greatest caution to avoid going over the sideling along" with the landslip (horse traffic being next to impossible.) The state of this road is not a thing of. to-day, but has been so, as above stated, for some time. If lam correctly informed, I believe the only steps as yet taken to remedy the evil complained of has been the presented of an official to say what ought to be. done; but many of the diggers fear., nothing, -will be done until some poor unfortunate . meets with an accident or loses his life* and it is thought up here that as there are many unemployed daily passing this place, the damage could be speedily repaired pro torn., until the much-promised new track is made. — I am 1 , Sec, '■ g July 4. ■ ■•;
