Westport, June 9. &i_ilio — District Cpjart-the_prisonera-Pickup and Pitts, charged with the gold robbery at the foot of Nelson Creek, were remanded until next sittings in conseof the absence of witnesses. Nelson, Juue 10. A No-confidence motion against the new Executive was brought up on Wednesday. The nominal grounds were that inadequate provision was made for carrying out the Executive-Act. Mr Reid replied, showing that the Act had provided nothing but a non official member for the Gold Fields — a representative of the Gold Fields in the Executive, and not an Executive member on the Gold Fields, and that the Executive had no alternative, whatever might be '< their sympathies. The motion, as modified, was defeated by 9 to 4. Two declined to vote. Mr Donne, last night, brought on a motion for responsible official supervision on the Gold Fields, but the motion was lost by oue vote. Messrs O'Connor, Reid and MacUley declined to vote. The motion is to be renewed to-night. Dunedin, June 10. The criminal sessions are completed. Mr Creagh^ solicitor, received a sentence of three years' imprisonment with hard labor for embezzlement.
