The ship Queen Bee, the last wool ship of the season from Dunedin, took home a quantity of preserved meat cured at Oamaru. The Brig Jan Van Galen, from Rotterdam, with a cargo of gin, arrived at Dunedin on the 10th ult. The brig Guess, from Newcastle to Port Louis, Mauritius, with coals, has been wrecked ; all hands saved. The s.B. Waipara, Captain Bascand, ran up from Hokitika yesterday afternoon, with the. cargo transhipped ex the Gothenburg. Captain Caluer, of the s.s. Omeo, reports

that he sighted the light on Cape Farewell bpit at a distance of 18 or 20 miles. The weather was moderately clear. The light is a revolving one. . The s.s. Omeo,. Captain Calder, left Hobson's Bay at 3 p.m. on tbe 14th May ; passed through the Heads at 6 p.m., and had light westerly winds to Swan Island, which was passed at 2.30 p.m. on the loth ; thence strong E.S.E. gales were experienced until making Preservation Inlet at 6 a. in. on the 21st ; thick weather was then met with until arrival at the Bluff, at 3.30 p.m same day ; discharged cargo, and left at 7 p.m. ; experienced southerly winds and thick weather until off Saddle Hill, when it cleared away, and the wind came round to the N. W. until arrival off Port Chalmers, at 11.30 a.m. on the 22nd; left at 415 p.m. on the 23rd; cleared the Heads at 4.30 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton at 10.45 a.m. on the 24th : left Lyttelton at 10 p.m. on the 25th ; cleared the Heads at 10.30, and arrived in Welliug; ton Harbor at 7 p.m. on the 26th ; left Wellington at 3 p.m. on the 27th, and arrived off this port at 6 a.m. on the 29th ; experienced light head winds and thick weathea during the passage. She was promptly tendered by the p. s. Dispatch, which transhipped her passengers and gold, and despatched her for Hokitika. The s.s. John Perm, Captain Carey, took her departure for Westport, &c., on Sunday. The ketch Brothers and Sisters, Captain Perkins, arrived on Saturday morning, from Westport, which she left on Thursday, and experienced very heavy weather, with thunder and lightning, on the run down. The s.s. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, from Nelson, Westport, and Hokitika, arrived on Sunday morning. She left Nelson on Wednesday last, at 7 p.m.; passed the s.s. Wallabi at 3 a.m., and the s.s. Gothenburg at 2 p.m. the following day, and brought up outside the Buller bar at 3 p.m. ; crossed the bar at 430 p.m. ; left on Friday at 8 p.m., came down the coast at half -speed, arrived at Hokitika on Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, and came on here the following morning. Yesterday, she sailed again for Westport and Nelson. The brig Magnet, Captain Clinskill, {from Melbourne, came to an anchor in the roadstead on Sunday morning, and was towed to the wharf, in fine style, yesterday morning by the p.s. Dispatch. She cleared Port Philip Heads on the evening of the 15th ult., and Kent's Group, the following evening at nine o'clock, the wind being light westerly until the morning of the 17th when a strong breeze was metjfrom the S.E. to E.S.E., with a heavy swell. The breeze lasted for 36 hours, and at 4 p.m. on the 19th Babel Island bore R.W. by S., distance 30 miles. From thence the wind was S.S.E. bringing up a heavy dead swell from the same quarter. On the 24th the wind chopped round to a light breeze from the S.W. which lasted 14 hours, after experienced only light and variable winds until making land on Friday, distant 30 miles from the Grey. The next day was a calm, so that no progress was made. She arrived as above, bringing a large cargo of general merchandise in splendid condition, and is consigned to her owners, Messrs Kennedy Bros.
