THE P.S. CHARLES EDWARD.
[to the editor.] Sib,— -On behalf of myself, the officers, and crew of the paddle steamer Charles Edward, I beg, through the able medium of your columns, to return thanks to the people of Greymouth for the warm sympathy expressed by them on the occasion of our late accident off Charleston. And I would take this opportunity of assuring Messrs Doane, Maclean, Nichol, Lapham, Thompson, and others, of our appreciation of the prompt and practical manner in which they endeavored to render us assistance, which, providentially, was not required. —Yours, &cl, Thos. Holmes, Master. Charles Edward. Nelson, May 16, 1870.
