SPORTING.

[daily telegraph.] # There has been but little alteration in the betting on the Rand wick meeting. In the Gold Cup, Warrior will be non est, and Circassian probably absent, and there seems to be nothing to touch Tim Whiffler if he comes to the post in form. Lamplighter and Misty Morn have arrived in Sydney all right, and have commenced to take their gallops. For the St. Ledger, Barbarian stands at 3to 1 ; Misty Morn, 7 to 2 : Moselle, the same figure ; Lamplighter, 4to 1 ; and the Fop, 6to 1. For the Cup, Tim has been backed at 8 to 1 ; Kestrel has had a little money put on at 20 to 1. In Sydney Bto 1 has been laid against Misty Morn for the " St. Leger. For the Cup, Tim stands at 7 to 1 ; The Earl, 9 to 1 ; Moselle, 12 to 1 ; Lamps, 15 to 1 ; and Barbarian, 100 to 6. News has been received in Melbourne that The Fop is amiss, but as very little Victorian money is on him, the announcement caused no excitement. Milanesian left for New South Wales in the steamer Dandenong on Thursday last. The Launceston races are to be revived next year. The Cup will consist of 15 soys-, 5 soys. forfeit, and 200 soys. added ; 50 soys. is to go to the second horse, and the third will save his Btakes. The distance is to be three miles. The Tamar Handicap is a two miles' race, of 20 soys. each, 10 soys. forfeit, or five if declared, and 300 soys. added. The nominations must be made on the Ist of June, and the acceptances declared on the 7th of December. The weights will be made known on the 9th of November.
