COMMERCIAL.
Commercial matters are brisk. A good demand for money ex'sts, and full bank rates are maintained. London Wool Sales opened on the 17th February. The arrivals consisted of 7253 bales. There was a crowded attendance of both home and f oreig a buyers. . Considerable spirit was manifested, and closing prices were quoted firmer. Since the opening day competition has remained extremely brisk. A slight advance has taken place; some descriptions of scoured Port Phillip and New Zealand combing fleeces and Australian of all kinds are quoted at a £d to Id dearer than at the end of last sales.
