The Marlborovgli J&pres* says :— " A prospectus has been issued of a new company, which proposes to work between the Wairau ami Nelson, Wellington, and. the W*at Coast, where there is a considerable market, for agricultural produce.. It appears that a, large and influential meeting was held at the Ferry when Mr J. Paul, as a promoter, laid his scheme, with a model and drawing, before it. It is intended to have a capital of LSOOO only, in 500 shares of LlO each. The. meeting listened with great attention to the speaker, and, after some debate they unanimously agreed to form a company as proposed, adopted the prospectus, and subi scribed for shares most liberally, nearly 20ft being taken in the room."
