The scarcity of shipp'ng that was mentioned in our last issue still continues, as we have not had any arrivals or departures for the last threp days. The Clyde is ijoSv rea-ly for sea, and will bp taken out as soon as the freshet subsides. We see by the telegraphic intelligence that the Wallabi left Wostpovt for here yesterday, and we also learn that she was to bs followed by the John Perm. AlKtut midday yesterday a vessel showed up off the bar, but after coming in a little towards the land she again stood out to sea. She is supposed to b. 3 the Kate Conley from Melbourne, and is the latest addition tq our colonial fleet. The p.s. Charles Edward was announced to. lpive Dunedin yesterday for Maiiin's Bay, with a body of settlers for that district. For this trip she has been chartered by the Provincial Government of Otago, aud comes round the southward passage to the coast instead of northwards, as on former occasions. She niav be looked for here about Friday qf Saturday.
