•— ANOTHER ENGAGEMENT WITH THE ENEMY. 10 KILLED AND 15 WOUNDED. (from our own correspondent.) Wellington, Feb. 14, 4. 10 p.m. Specimens from the Never Despair Claim have been analysed by Dr Hector, and yielded at the rate of 7ozs to the ton. On Thursday, Kereopa, with sixty of Te Kooti's men, passed through Ratorua under the disguise of Friendlies. Major Mair, on ascertaining their character, followed them with the Arawas, and overtook the enemy, who retreated, occasionally charging their pursuers. An engagement took place near Lake Rofcorua, in a mountain pass, when ten of the enemy were killed and fifteen wounded, amongst the latter Kereopa Our loss was three wounded, one mortally. Major Fraser has been placed under arrest — cause unknown. Auckland papers state positively that •the seat of government will shortly be removed there.
