She tsays that about 10 o'clock at night her landlady told her. that her services as a monthly mtree were required by a person at Collibgwobd. Knowing one of -the •messengers, and being aware that the person named would shortly need her attention; she had no hesitation in getting up and accompanying a young man namfed Michael Haaty and. two tith'ier ijien who were with him, and who represented that they had been sent to' conduct her to her patient. They led her across the Gol-lingwood-flat, and when near the Abbotsford School, in a lonely spot, Hasty knockefl i her down, and criminally assaulted her, his two companions repeating the offence, notwithstanding her resistance and cries for h : elp. Having achieved theirpurpoßethey decamped, and the poor woman returned to Collingwood and gave information to the pdlice,' Upon which Hasty -was arrested, and has since' been committed for trial.
