The s.s. John Perm is announced to leave this port on Tuesday evening for Westport, Nelson, and Manukau. This will afford a splendid opportunit} 7 to passengers who wish to be in Auckland during the visit of the Flying Squadron, an extra inducement being the issue of return tickets at single fares, available until the 10th of March. The p.s. Lyttelton, Captain Soott, arrived here yesterday morning, having left WestSort on Thursday, and Nelson on last Tuesay. She will leave to-day for Hokitika, and is intended, we learn, to sail thence to Okarito and southern ports should sufficient inducement offer. The ketch Standard, which was yesterday entered in from Brighton, is of only 12 tons burthen. Her captain reports her as an excellent sea-boat, and better suited to cross bar harbors than many vessels of greater pretensions. She carries in all four hands, as in entering to Brighton or Charleston the use of sweeps is required. She will take a general cargo from here, and is being loaded by Messrs Kennedy Bro3. The p. 8 Dispatch (tug) which left for Nelson on Thursday, may be expected buck about next Tuesday, as it is not likely that she will be compelled to wait longer than 24 hours there; Her only reason for going is to get a coat of tar upon her bottom, no place here being suitable for that purpose. • A few days ago Mr Nancarrow, Inspector of Steamers, made a complete overhaul of her, and pronounced her engines and fittings to be in as good order as they were on the day she arrived here. The p.s. diaries Edward is announced to leave this port for Westport, Nelson, and Maimkau, on Thursday next.
